Language Acquisition: Problems and Perspectives, XVII/VXIII

Laiveniece, Diāna (ed.). Language Acquisition: Problems and Perspectives: Conference proceedings, XVII/VXIII. Liepāja: LiePA, 2022. p 529.

Everyone who writes knows how sometimes it is difficult to write even what is well understood, understandable and meaningful enough in their own minds. There are days when there is a difficult barrier between our ideas, thoughts and words, sentences, especially when words and sentences have to be put on paper or visualized on display. However, despite all the barriers between thought and word, the multilingual collection of scientific articles “Language Acquisition: Problems and Perspectives” in a double issue (XVII/XVIII) offers 30 articles by 39 authors from Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Germany, Russia, Slovakia, the United States and Romania.

The collection is based on reports read at the 17th International Scientific Conference of the Liepaja University on May 22, 2020, and at the 18th International Scientific Conference on May 14, 2021. The edition is arranged in four parts:

  • Language Acquisition in Childhood.
  • Acquisition of a Foreign Language in Secondary School, in the Study Process and Lifelong Learning
  • Teaching Aids, Materials and Texts for Language Acquisition.
  • Improving the Professional Competence of Language Teachers.

All the articles are double-blind, peer-reviewed and indexed in the EBSCO database and electronically available in the Digital Library of the National Library of Latvia. Each article in the collection is assigned a DOI name and registered in the international metadata catalogue Crossref.
